The stream isn't very deep, the water doesn't even wet my ankles, but it's full of life. Little fishes in the current. Leggy bugs skate across the surface. Smooth rocks coated in slippery algae line the edges where the water runs slower. A stray leaf floats on the surface, I follow it slowly down stream.
